‘The direction of my work has been shaped by two artistic movements that I have been inspired by throughout my artistic development. Traditional applied ceramics and modern sculpture are examples of these movements. The former category has given me a chance to appreciate and admire craftsmanship as well as its importance in addition to fine art. Due to its liberating eclecticism and synthetic approach to shape and colour, the second category gave me the chance to comprehend the plastic language of contemporary sculpture on a deeper and conceptual level.
To put it another way, I think of my work as a lotus flower, its petals—in the conscious light of the moment, with roots firmly planted in the history of art.’
